That’s an extremely high number of views in the youtube world. It’s insane! The video has received a lot of hate and “trolling” across the internet, perhaps due to the intense deep meaning behind Friday‘s lyrics.
Rebecca Black has appeared on interviews and gained international attention in a matter of hours.
I think the guys at Ark Music factory are laughing their way to the bank.
Somehow this recent Rebecca Black viral “phenomena” reminds me of the amazing documentary Exit through the gift shop by Banksy… where he creates the Mr Brainwash character to test peoples stupidity and question the subject of “art” and the power of marketing.
In this case, this Friday song and teh Rebecca Black character is a mockery on what the music industry has become today. A lot of hype and no depth. All the Lady Gaga & Justin Bieber craziness, commercialism and marketing. Although to be fair with gaga and bieber, they both do sing and have strong stage presence and personality. .. this Rebecca girl sounds like a cat being srangled. Just being honest.
But it’s not her fault either.
Her mom paid a lot of money to this ark music dudes to market her and make her “famous” no matter what.. I assume they must be very happy now, regarding all the internet hate.
